Connect your Amazon Echo to your smart home devices
First things first, when you buy a new smart home device, connect it to your Amazon Echo when you get a new smart home device and make sure that it’s compatible with Alexa. This helps you turn off any lights or plugs while rushing out the door and you can even control your thermostat while away.
After the installation of your smart home device, enable the Amazon Alexa skills by saying, “Alexa, discover my devices.”
While you are out of home, you can open the Alexa application and say “Alexa, turn off the porch light” or “Alexa, turn off the bathroom plug.” With Amazon Alexa, you can crawl in bed and turn off the lights with just your voice.
Set the alarm from home or while on the go
Option 1: If you’re near to your Echo, you can say, “Alexa, set the alarm for 6:30 a.m.”

Connect to Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, SiriusXM, Tidal, or Vivo: If you’re connecting to one of these, tap Link New Service, select the service and enter your login info.
Connect to Google Play Music or iTunes: You can use only your Amazon Echo as a speaker if you have one of these two music streaming services (Google Play and iTunes). You will need to select the songs that you want to hear on your phone manually.
Go to settings of your mobile and switch to Bluetooth. Then say, “Alexa, pair.” Once it appears on your Bluetooth screen, select your Echo.
Play games with your friends or kids: If you have no board games and you’re trying to entertain friends or kiddos, this one can be fun. Alexa has a ton of games that you can play, like Jeopardy, Harry Potter trivia, games for music, games for kids, and much more. With the Amazon Echo buttons, you can also play multiplayer games.
